News Group Signatures.

September 22nd, 2009

Hi All,

I know a number of memebers subscribe to news groups such as:

http://www.oz-clubbies.com

and

http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk

If you do could you add a link to this site in your signature?
This will help us promote the club by making people aware of the website.

To do this in the signature setting for each website you would add some text for the link, below are a couple of examples that you can use:

For oz-clubbies: Sports Car Builders WA

For locostbuilders: Sports Car Builders WA

Meeting Report: September 2009.

September 8th, 2009

Hi Guys,

32 members and visitors attended the club meeting last Thursday [ bloody freezing night ] Chris Mitchell brought along his formula ford race car which was of great interest to members , the two most common comments were geez its low !! and geez i would never fit into that !!

There is still a lot of discussion ref the IM 240 emission law implementation and this not just in WA . There are various rumours about how each state will handle it and now there are industry groups who suddenly realise it is going to effect them and are up in arms …..as they say watch this space.

The next monthley meeting will also be our AGM so if you would like to put your hand up to take up a club position please feel free !!! Also yearly membership subs are up for renewal and it was agreed at the september meeting that subs will stay at $25.00 per year. A week or so before the next meeting i will attach a renewal form to the reminder email .

Toyota 4AGE Parts

August 25th, 2009

It would seem that Midland Toyota Spares Department is prepared to offer a discount on Toyota spares including 20 valve parts. Most of the Toyota dealers seem to have microfiche or computer listings of these parts but the prices have been – uh, non competitive. I have tried at least one dealer who shall remain unnamed and this turned out to be the case. Anyway, the man you need at Midland Toyota is David Patchett of the Spare Parts Department. You need to show your membership card to qualify for a discount.

PS – Seems a couple of members have used Midland Toyota to get hold of some parts and have been pleased with the result. I’ll check in the next week or so since I have to get some bits and pieces plus some technical info.

Presidents End of Year Message 2008

August 25th, 2009

This has been a very successful year with our build manual finally compiled and printed due to Darryl’s continued effort. This project was started 6 years ago and it has been my aim each year to get it done. The manual will only be available to club members and each copy is numbered and registered to that member. The cost is $20.00, this was agreed at the September meeting as being a fair price and they are available from the club secretary. Butch was quick off the mark and purchased copy number I. Also at the September meeting we demonstrated the new scales and a photo was taken which we intend to send to Kit Car magazines, as they would like news from our club. We already have contact information in the Complete Kitcar magazine in the UK and they published a small article and picture.

If anybody still has club equipment will they please return it to me as I have gained some shelving so that I can keep it all under one roof, and you will not have to chase around to get it. I intend to make some small ramps for the scales so that cars don’t have to be jacked up to get them on the scales, which should make it quicker to operate and adjust. We will monitor very carefully who has use of them and only bona fide member/builders will have use of them and there will also be a time limit.

It has come to our attention that the slush fund has not matched the number of people attending the meetings, so please make sure you put your gold coin in at each meeting, as this covers refreshments as well as our end of year function.

We have seen several cars take to the road and by all accounts the process has been straight forward and the manual should make this continue to be painless.

This year’s subs will still stay at 25$ and are due now, we don’t pro rata them as they are so low it’s more a show of faith in the club, and incredible value for money.

Well that’s it from me I hope you all enjoy the club as much as I do,

Regards

Barrie Nelson.
